We all managed to put down the chocolates and get out of our festive onesies to come into work host the last wedding of the year here at Quex.
We were keen to have the room all dressed by the 24th though so we could all-including our bride and groom relax over Christmas knowing that all was ready when we returned the day after Boxing Day. Room dressed √, bar stocked √ inflatable penguin positioned √ music checked √ …. although Martin we did wonder if you were going to come dressed as Clint Eastwood on the day given your cool Enno Morricone choices!
Martin and his groomsmen arrived bright and early and I sneakily set up the projector with Alex ‘The Best Man’ ready for the speeches. Steph accompanied with her bridesmaids arrived soon after to relax and get ready for the day in the brides dressing room within Quex house.
It was a gloriously crisp winters day so the sun shined into the ceremony room and a stunning winter sky allowed for some fab outside photos despite it being December date.
The ceremony in Quex house was atmospheric as ever; the grandfather clock chimed delicately just before the processional music for Steph to make her grand entrance and the special words during the ceremony weren’t disrupted too much with Stephs well-timed attack of the giggles!
Guests were treated to a safari drinks & canape reception in the African Gallery as the happy couple enjoyed some time together; whilst having some portrait photos Martin was floored by his groomsmen when they presented a handmade sword to mark the special day.
On to the wedding breakfast and confetti cannons and cheering erupted as the new Mr & Mrs Reid made their entrance.A relaxed and family atmosphere was the order of the day for the breakfast and guests enjoyed a hot buffet style meal – with no turkey in sight! Followed by a selection puds served all rounded up with the entertaining speeches. Father of the Groom kicked off proceedings in the absence of Steph’s dad as he was to poorly to attend but his words and stories were included in the speech by Martins dad who clearly has taken his new daughter in law to heart. This was then followed by Martin and then all upstaged by the best man Alex who suitably embarrassed the groom with the aforementioned slideshow which received a standing ovation!
For the evening party glitz and glamour oozed with a casino, lit dance floor, sparkling love lights & twinkling Christmas tree setting the scene and all the guests partied and danced the night away…
Steph and Martin, from all here Weddingsat Quex wish you all the very best for your future and thank you for letting us share your special day with you….Maddie x
