Weddings
We are proud to offer civil ceremonies in either Quex House, or under our Victorian Gazebo.
Nestled within the Quex Estate, just 13 miles from the historic city of Canterbury, lies Weddings at Quex. We are an exclusive wedding venue proud to offer civil ceremonies. Every celebration that we have the pleasure of hosting is a unique as the couple it is for.
Our grounds are licensed to hold civil ceremonies in three different locations. Outside we have our Victorian Gazebo, which is licensed for 120 guests. The trees surrounding the ceremony area make your celebration completely private, whilst the views make summer weddings here truly special.
If the temperatures outside are a little chillier, then inside we have two welcoming locations which provide a cosy atmosphere even during the coldest winter days. The Grand Hall inside Quex House is perfectly suited for an intimate ceremony of up to 70 guests, or our majestic dining hall is available if you’d like up to 120 guests to join you.
For those who may be wanting a traditional church ceremony, All Saints Church in Birchington is less than 1 mile down the road.

What Our Couples Say
Our wedding was a memorable day, which was absolutely perfect., thanks to Molly, Alice and the rest of the team at Quex. All of our guests expressed the same sentiment and told us that they had a most wonderful time. From planning, through to the big day itself, we were guided by Alice. The lead up to our wedding was during troubled times - the COVID pandemic! But Alice and Molly kept us up to date with our options and took the worries off our shoulders. We chose our wedding photographer, DJ and table decorator from Quex's list of preferred suppliers. This kept things simple, with the additional benefit of the suppliers being familiar with the venue, and able to provide a first class, trouble free service. Their prices were very competitive too. We are more than happy to give Weddings at Quex an unreserved recommendation."
The Wedding and events team at Quex are a truly special group of people. They work terrifically hard to pull together a special day full of memories and make you feel at ease when dealing with any little question or request. From our first meeting with Alice we knew Quex was the venue for us, despite it only being our first viewing of venues. Living in West Sussex and planning a wedding in Kent meant we knew we needed a venue and coordinator who could organise our day perfectly. Alice understood exactly what we wanted for our day and discussed the many options to suit us without overwhelming us or trying to sway our decisions. Alice was so thoughtful and supportive that we didn't want to risk going elsewhere and missing out on this and so cancelled our other viewings at local venues. We are so glad we did - Alice and the rest of the team did us so proud and we couldn't have asked for a better day! On the day, everything ran smoothly and every minute detail had been thought through; our ceremony location changed due to weather without a problem, our personal belongings were looked after, our guests were attended to fantastically, the day was managed with seamless transitions between each event and all whilst the staff had the biggest smiles and the warmest welcome for our guests. During the day our guests stopped us to comment on what a lovely staff team there was and how thoughtful the day had been, with delicious food and special touches throughout. We cannot thank Alice, Molly, Laura and team enough - we highly recommend Quex as a venue and count ourselves as a very lucky couple to have been married here! We love popping back to visit and think this is a lovely little extra for this venue; it's so nice that a couple of years on we can pop back with family and friends and visit Felicity's and still see the team!"
We looked around quex and the grounds and fell in love, with a light modern airy space and pretty string lights across the ceiling. After choosing to postpone our wedding for a year due to restrictions with Covid in place, Molly and Laura we very understanding, we finally tied the knot in June 2022. Leading up to the wedding the girls were fantastic, after our band pulling out they were on hand with Recommendations of bands and DJ’s just couldn’t do enough to help to make the day was perfect, constantly in communication and on the other end of the phone. Quex grounds were unbelievably beautiful with our wedding photos taken in front of the Fountain and under a beautiful arch in the grounds. We didn’t see much of our children or any children actually as they were all in their element and free to roam and smiles from ear to ear with laughter. Molly, Laura and there staff ensured the day ran so smoothly Transitioning from day to evening that we didn’t even notice we stepped out and back in to a transformed room, the food was amazing we chose the Carvery as our main which was beautifully presented with our guest headed up more than once, with our children being fussy eaters the girls went out of there way to get our children McDonald’s which they thoroughly enjoyed, glasses topped up and drinks brought round for the speech’s. The staff Were discreet but present, just lovely happy to help nothing seemed to much. The day just seemed to fly by. The next morning we hired out Felicity’s Cafe and our Bouquets that had been left from the night before were beautifully presented as centre piece on each table for breakfast it really is the small things."
